(description of the team is below the picture) ![]() Basic description of CSU Shotgun Sports Club:
The Colorado State University Shotgun Sports Team competes in collegiate shotgun events across the United States. The team has won many titles, including the 2007 National American Trap Team Champions, the 2007 American Trap Individual Champion, the 2008 Third Place International Skeet Team, and the the 2008 Third Place Skeet Team. We are proud of our accomplishments and continue to work diligently to achieve success in our competitions. Our shotgun team is more than a group of competitors; we are team and we function as such. We practice together, compete together, and even hunt together. The team volunteers with the local 4-H Club to promote conservation, gun safety, and shotgun events, be it with sporting clays or wildlife.
The CSU Shotgun Sports Club has only a few expectations. Most importantly, HAVE FUN! Next, represent CSU in a respectful manner and hopefully win some events along the way. The team is comprised of all years of students from freshmen to “super” seniors (ACUI lets 5 years of participation at Nationals). Normally, we load up a few of our own vehicles and “road trip” to the events. The road trip is worth the weekend in itself. Traveling to different states for the social event is rewarding no matter the outcome of the competition.
Our team is very accommodating for both new shooters and veteran competitors. We are always glad to help people break their first targets because after a few good “dusts” we know that they will come back again. Also, we have a very competitive varsity team. If you are the competitive shooter that has been looking for challenges from your peers, this team is for you. But if you are the apprehensive shooter that just wants to meet new people, travel, and have fun, we definitely have a spot for you too.
Please donate to our team so that our club can continue to grow and stay competitive! Here is the link to the Donations page for instructions.
